WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account and Profile Information

When you create an account, we collect information that you provide, such as:

- Your email address (when using Google Sign-In)
- Your name and chosen username
- Profile photo (if you choose to upload one)
- Biography or description (optional)
- Privacy preferences (public, limited, or private profile settings)

Recipe and Content Information

When you create or share recipes, we collect:

- Recipe details including titles, descriptions, ingredients, and cooking instructions
- Recipe metadata such as cooking times, servings, difficulty level, cuisine type, and spice level
- Images associated with recipes (main photos and step-by-step photos)
- Source images used for recipe extraction (photos of books, websites, etc.)
- Video content if you upload cooking instruction videos
- Tips, notes, and additional information you add to recipes

Personal Notes

When you add notes to recipes, we store:

- The text content of your notes
- When notes were created or last modified
- Which recipes your notes are associated with

Social and Engagement Information

When you interact with other users or content, we collect:

- Recipes you mark as favorites
- Users you follow and users who follow you
- Engagement statistics and activity data

Subscription and Payment Information

When you purchase a Premium subscription, we collect:

- Subscription tier (Premium Monthly or Premium Yearly)
- Subscription status and expiration date
- Transaction identifiers from Apple's StoreKit (for subscription verification)
- Purchase and renewal dates

Important: We do not collect or store your payment information. All payments are processed through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple handles all payment processing, and we only receive transaction confirmations and subscription status information.

Usage Tracking Information

To enforce free tier limits and provide subscription features, we track:

- Number of recipes created per month
- Number of AI-powered recipe extractions performed per month
- Number of AI-generated recipe descriptions created per month
- Monthly usage reset dates

This information is used solely to enforce subscription limits and is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service.

Technical and Usage Information

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the App:

- Device type and operating system version
- App version and installation information
- How you authenticate (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In)
- Error reports and performance data (if enabled)

Feedback and Communications

If you contact us or submit feedback, we may collect:

- The content of your messages, feedback, or feature requests
- Your email address (if you provide it for follow-up)
- Technical information about the App version you're using

Device Permissions

The App requests access to:

- Camera - To take photos of recipes for extraction. Images are processed by AI services to extract recipe information.
- Photo Library - To select existing images for recipe extraction or to use as recipe photos. Selected images are sent to AI services for processing.

You can manage these permissions through your device settings. Note that revoking permissions may limit some App features.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the App. Specifically, we use your information to:

- Deliver core App features including recipe management, sharing, and social interactions
- Process recipe extraction requests using AI services when you extract recipes from images or websites
- Enable social features like following users, favoriting recipes, and discovering content
- Respect your privacy preferences and control who can see your profile and recipes
- Authenticate your account and maintain account security
- Manage subscriptions, verify subscription status, and enforce free tier usage limits
- Track usage to provide subscription features and limit enforcement
- Respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests
- Detect and prevent security threats, fraud, or misuse of the App
- Improve the App's features, performance, and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers to operate the App:

Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)

We use Google's Firebase services to store and process your data:

- Firebase Authentication - Manages your account login and authentication
- Cloud Firestore - Stores your recipes, notes, profile information, and other app data
- Firebase Storage - Hosts your images and uploaded files

Your data in Firebase is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase uses encryption and industry-standard security measures.

OpenAI

When you use recipe extraction features, we send images and text content to OpenAI for processing:

- Images and content are analyzed to extract recipe information
- OpenAI's use of your content is governed by their Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Important: You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to extract and use content from the sources you access. We are not responsible for copyright or intellectual property issues related to content you extract.

Apple (StoreKit)

When you purchase a Premium subscription, Apple processes your payment through StoreKit:

- Apple handles all payment processing and stores your payment information
- We receive only transaction confirmations and subscription status from Apple
- Apple's use of your payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
- Subscription management (cancellation, renewal) is handled through Apple's systems

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers

If Misoto is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We implement security measures designed to protect your information:

- Encryption - Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
- Secure Authentication - We use industry-standard authentication methods (Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In)
- Access Controls - Database security rules ensure users can only access appropriate data
- Regular Updates - We regularly review and update our security practices

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include:

Access and Review

You can view your account information, recipes, notes, and other data directly in the App.

Update and Correct

You can update your profile information, recipes, and notes at any time through the App's interface.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account. When you delete your account, we will remove:

- Your account and profile information
- All your recipes and associated images
- All your personal notes
- Your favorites and follow relationships

Account deletion is permanent. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Privacy Controls

You can control your privacy through Settings → Account, including choosing whether your profile is public, limited, or private.

Device Permissions

You can manage camera and photo library permissions through your device settings. Revoking permissions may limit App functionality.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information:

- Account Information - Until you delete your account
- Recipes and Content - Until you delete your account or remove the content
- Images and Files - Until you delete your account or remove the associated content
- Subscription Information - Until you delete your account or as required by law for financial records
- Usage Tracking Data - Until you delete your account or up to 2 years, whichever comes first
- Usage Data - Up to 2 years or until account deletion
- Feedback - Up to 3 years for service improvement

When you delete your account, we will remove your information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@game-timer.com. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

If you are between 16 and 18 years old, please ensure you have permission from a parent or guardian before using the App.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.

These countries may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.

When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date in the App and, if you have provided an email address, sending you an email notification.
